Sage Willow founder, Jessica Lynn Shell, LPCC, ATR-BC, RYT, CPYT provides a warm, nurturing setting where clients can find support and compassion in their life journey... wherever they may be.  Weaving expressive arts and yoga practice into the fabric of mental shifts, behavioral adjustments and spiritual growth, Jessica creates a rich patchwork towards wellness.

When working with children and families, Jessica facilitates opportunities for gaining skills and concrete ways to enforce them ongoing.  Educative tools, sensory exploration and emotional regulation are cornerstones of Jessica's work with clients.  She uses visual aids, behavioral systems, coping strategies and mind-body connection. 

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Board Certified Art Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher, Jessica specializes in working with children, adolescents, prenatal and postnatal women.   She strives to improve lives by providing understanding, compassion, respect and individualized attention in a nurturing environment.

She founded SageWillow.com to offer holistic services that include individual counseling, group and family counseling, expressive art workshops and professional training.  

Her passion for the arts inspired the creation of JessicaLynnCreations.com, where Jessica shares her handcrafted designs — crochet, paintings, drawings, photography, apparel, crafts, décor and accessories.

Background

Beyond her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL, Sage Willow founder, Jessica Lynn Shell, continued to develop her professional credentials, receiving a Masters degree in Counseling and Human Services at National Louis University (with honors), and post-masters certification in art therapy at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.  Over the course of her career, Jessica has blended creative skills with business acumen in a wide range of successful endeavors--from working collaboratively within a therapeutic day school environment to working within a children's residential facility, a child assault prevention program, and a shelter for runaway teenagers.


Experience

Jessica's expertise covers a variety of mental health problems, including Depression, Anxiety, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Jessica's love for music and nature has also influenced her work as she uses enhanced sensory and recreational resources in her art and therapeutic relationships.  Jessica is skilled in facilitating artistic expression and creative exploration when working with her clients.  In doing so, she creates a nurturing, supportive environment--to encourage change and acceptance. Her passion for immersing her clients within the fine arts has enabled Jessica to address individualized needs, while establishing an environment conducive to self-exploration and imaginative, creative expression.

In addition, Jessica facilitates group and professional training workshops focused on developing, exploring and enhancing therapeutic and artistic skills.
